DO I HAVE A PLUS ONE?
At this time, our guest list is limited to those adults to whom our save-the-dates were addressed to. As the event approaches and we have a better idea of how many of these guests are able to attend, we hope to be able to extend plus ones to guests. This will be dependent on RSVPs due to limitations in event capacity.
ARE MY CHILDREN INVITED?
Our wedding day will be an adult only occasion. We hope this advance notice means you are able to make arrangements to share our big day. Please let us know if you would like recommendations for finding a babysitter in the DC area; you can email us at kemp.schlags@gmail.com.
WHAT TIME DOES THE CEREMONY START?
The ceremony will start PROMPTLY at 5pm. We encourage you take the shuttle service provided from the wedding hotel, but if you wish to travel to the wedding venue on your own, please ensure enough time to arrive by 4:50pm.
IS TRANSPORTATION BEING PROVIDED TO THE WEDDING LOCATION?
Yes, we will be providing shuttle service to and from the venue on our wedding day. The shuttle will only leave from and return to one of the wedding hotels - The Fairfax at Embassy Row. Guests staying at The Embassy Row hotel will need to catch the shuttle at The Fairfax, which is located on the opposite corner from The Embassy Row Hotel. WHEN IS THE RSVP DEADLINE?
Please respond no later than September 20, 2016. Please don't make us chase you down for a response! :-) You can send back the RSVP card included in your invitation, or you can respond directly on our website's RSVP page.
ARE THERE ANY PLANNED ACTIVITIES FOR GUESTS THE DAY BEFORE OR THE DAY AFTER THE WEDDING?
For guests who are in town Friday evening (October 14th) we invite you to join us for a drink in the lounge at The Fairfax hotel. A space will be reserved for our guests from 7:30 PM to 10 PM. We expect to arrive between 8 and 9 PM, following our rehearsal dinner. Cash and credit bar.
At this time, no specific events are planned for Sunday, October 16th, however, we will update this section at a later date if something is planned.
IF I'M ARRANGING MY OWN ACCOMMODATIONS, WHAT AREAS OF DC ARE BEST TO STAY IN?
The wedding venue is located at the intersection of the Glover Park, Cleveland Park, and Tenleytown neighborhoods. The wedding hotel is located in Dupont Circle. These areas are located in the Northwest section of DC; we suggest staying in NW will be the most convenient. Other nearby neighborhoods to consider are Friendship Heights, Woodley Park/Adams Morgan, Logan Circle/14th St., U St., Columbia Heights, and Georgetown. I WISH TO PURCHASE A WEDDING GIFT - ARE YOU REGISTERED, AND SHOULD I BRING THE GIFT TO THE WEDDING?
As they say, your presence is present enough! But if you wish to gift us something, you can find our registry information on the Gift Registry page of this website.
I HAVE A DIETARY RESTRICTION, CAN I GET A SPECIAL MEAL?
Our menu will include a variety of options, so we hope that everyone will be able to find food that works for them. If you have a food allergy/sensitivity, please let us know and our caterers will do their best to provide options to accomodate these.
CAN I TAKE PHOTOS DURING THE WEDDING CEREMONY?
Along with our rabbi, photographer, and videographer, we are requesting that guests keep their phones put away during the ceremony, and enjoy our exchange of vows technology free. We will share a link to our photographers photos and our video with guests in the weeks following the wedding. Other than the ceremony, we encourage you to take photos and use our hastag #jandjseizetheday to share.
